The JEC was an excellent platform to meet with excisting and potential business partners and promote our innovative products and technologies in the composite market, says François de Bie, Head of sales and marketing. Customers from the automative, packaging, furniture and other industries have taken the opportunity to see and evaluate our samples in a variety of thicknesses and cell sizes.
With conventional honeycomb manufacturing methods costs increase significantly at smaller cell sizes. The outstanding production efficiency of EconCore's patented ThermHex technology enables now to produce Polypropylene (PP) honeycomb cores in 3-4 mm thickness with cell sizes as small as 3 mm!, says Jochen Pflug, CEO of EconCore. EconCore is the first company in the world to produce 3 mm cell diameter honeycomb cores.
Besides PP-honeycombs EconCore also presented honeycombs made from Polylactid Acid (PLA), Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), Polycarbonate (PC), ABS and various high heat resins.
ThermHex Waben GmbH, was co-exhibiting at the JEC and showing a full range of PP honeycomb cores in the thickness range from 8 mm to 30 mm.
On the stand a various hybrid composite panels were shown, including ThermHex panels with steel and aluminium skins and a range of ThermHex panels with plywood and MDF skins. Jochen Pflug : These panels are targeted at thet building and construction industry, where durability, low production cost, insulation properties and excellent surface finish are among the key requirements.
